We're well into autumn, the days are getting shorter, and you’re increasingly donning your down jacket to go outside. Even worse; Christmas food has started appearing in the supermarkets!
Â
You’ve given a lot of yourself to others this year. Be it covering for colleagues at work, or ensuring the kids are occupied over the silly season.Â
Â
So isn’t it time for some ‘you’ time? A mini break to refocus your attention on what’s important to you. To formulate a strategy for what you (or your team) want from life and work. To recharge low batteries, refresh your outlook, and generally regroup.
Â
And where better to do this than Cornwall (even if you did visit over the summer). There’s so many reasons why autumn makes for a great time to visit. For instance,
Â
Most of the tourists have left! Walk down beautiful coast paths and beaches hardly seeing a soul. Turn up a restaurants without needing to book (or better still eat at my place…read on). Visit picturesque towns, villages, and gardens without endless jostling and queuing, or hunting for a parking space.
The weather. Statistically the county enjoys less rainfall than in summer yet it’s still warm enough to be outdoors. Autumn light renders Cornwall’s beautiful views even more magnificent.
It’s flora. Spectacular displays of autumn colours abound from October to November, and sub-tropical plants reach their full height or burst into flower in Cornwall’s famous gardens.
It’s better for most outdoor activities. The sea is still warm for swimming (trust me, it’s lovely at present), the surf is better, and the roads are quieter for cycling.
It’s harvest time, with orchards giving up their bounty and events such as the Fal Oyster Festival to enjoy in October.
Â

Somebody who has the skills to ensure that when you’re not enjoying what the locality has to offer, you’re able to find solutions to whatever life and work challenges you’ve got so that you leave motivated and energised to put your plans into practice.
